Contract Hire and Leasing Guide - Contracts With out Maintenance

All Vehicle Contracts Contract Hire and Leasing Guide - Contracts With out Maintenance
  • In compliance with our governance, our aim is to ensure you have an understanding that contracts excluding servicing and maintenance could result in you being faced with unexpected bills that may be unaffordable and have not been budgeted for throughout the contract term and at contract end.

Customers that choose to opt for customer-maintained agreements will be responsible for costs relating to servicing and maintenance costs and for tyre replacement to comply with safe legal tyre depth readings (minimum 2mm tread depth across all treads including the spare)

Customers are also required to ensure the vehicle is returned at contract end serviced in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations, and that tyres are the correct size and speed ratings, with minimum 2mm tread depth across all tyres including the spare (where applicable).

    Fair wear and tear guide

Repairs and damage that are not classed as fair wear and tear; including tyre damage, would be the customer’s responsibility throughout the agreement and at contract end even if you choose to include maintenance.Repairs and damage that are not classed as fair wear and tear; including tyre damage, would be the customer’s responsibility throughout the agreement and at contract end even if you choose to include maintenance.

    Payment and Fees

While the service intervals may vary between different car brands, there are common themes across all car makes and models that call for servicing by dashboard digital request. For example, the most common maintenance checks are: 12 months or 10,000 miles whichever comes sooner, for service A and 20,000 for service B which is a more in depth service and therefore more expensive.

For more information regarding general servicing, please contact your vehicle’s manufacturer.

    Non-franchised vehicle servicing

While in some instances reputable non-franchised vehicle servicing points offer cheaper servicing and repairs the initial saving could result in greater costs, should the dealer fit non-genuine parts, or carry out a poor repair that could void the warranty and may leave the customer liable to cover these costs at contract end.

The same applies to tyres if fitted with incorrect speed rating or are of a brand not recognized by the manufacturer.
