MINI Hatchback facelift UK 2018 2019
The MINI Mk3 has been bought up to date with some new technology, an external facelift and some under-bonnet changes; the same changes have been made to both the MINI hatchback and the MINI Convertible.
Externally, the new MINI doesn’t appear to have altered too much when viewed from the front, apart from new style MINI logo and headlights. The rear of the 2018 MINI hatchback is a different story, however, with full-LED lights set proudly in a rather controversial Union Jack flag design (and no, if you are a UK buyer, there is no option to change them).
New packs and options for the latest MINI include a black exterior pack, removing chrome detailing and replacing it with gloss black. New wheel designs and colours are also available, and the MINI Yours Customised programme allows for a more bespoke design. For example, buyers can choose to have their MINI’s side scuttle trims personalised in a variety of 3D plastic printed options.
Inside the latest Mk3 MINI, there is a multi-function steering wheel, 6.5-inch colour touchscreen and plenty of optional extras including an upgrade to the infotainment system that adds multiple connected online services.
Engine-wise, the 2018 MINI hatchback and convertible One now has a detuned variant of the three-cylinder 1.5 unit found in the Cooper. Seven-speed Steptronic double-clutch transmission is available in the One, Cooper, Cooper D and Cooper S models – the SD comes as standard with eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The MINI range is not cheap, starting at £15,900 OTR for the standard 3dr MINI hatchback. However, if you would like to get into the driving seat of a new MINI, contract hire and leasing is well worth a look thanks to excellent resale values and great discounts, secured by AVC and passed on as savings to customers nationwide.
